On Friday, May 5th 2017, the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) in Bangalore organized a conference for Start-ups and their eco-system in India at Novotel Bengaluru TechPark.
The conference was conducted in the presence of the Honbl. Consul General of France in Bangalore, Mr. François Gautier who delivered the welcome note, and Mr. Shailesh Ghorpade, Managing Partner and CIO of Exfinity Venture Partners who delivered a talk on ‘Current size and Scale, best practices to function and how to make the environment more conducive for Start-ups’. This interactive event was attended by 100+ participants that included Start-ups, Venture Capitalists, Eco-System players and the Indian and French business community. The event was held in partnership with Société Générale, Novotel Bengaluru Techpark, Khaitan & Co. and YourStory.
The second session of the program began with the official launch of the IFCCI start-up committee by Mr. François Gautier, Mr. Shailesh Ghorpade and the IFCCI Governing Council members Ms. Elisa Khetty and Mr. Anup Vittal. This was succeeded by the first panel discussion, which had Mr. Rahul Narayan, Founder – TeamIndus, Ms. Souad Tenfiche, CEO – NUMA Bengaluru, Mr. Abhilekh Varma, Partner – Khaitan & Co. discuss the ‘Factors that impact the start-up eco-system and the measures for making the environment more conducive’.
The second panel consisted of Mr. Shripathi Acharya, Managing Partner – Prime Venture Partners; Mr. Seetharaman Venkatraman, Senior Vice President Open Innovation Enabler – Amplifying Digital, Société Générale; Mr. Hari Kumar P, Associate – Fundraising | M&A | Business Modelling for SMEs & Start-ups, SAS Partners ; Mr. Bala Parthasarthy, Co-Founder & CEO, MoneyTap who spoke on ‘How to get funded in the current environment and the oppurtunity of growth in India’. The moderator for both panels was Ms. Shradha Sharma, Founder – YourStory.com
Succeeding each panel discussions, there was an interactive Q&A with the participating companies where an array of questions was answered in detail by the experts. The event concluded with a start-up showcase, where Citizengage and SpotPlay demonstrated their services and products to the audience.
